New flexible booking terms due to Covid-19

During this difficult period for the hospitality and travel industry, Glenapp has temporarily changed its booking policy to, we hope, still enable people to plan ahead but with a high degree of flexibility. For all booking made from today and staying between the 14th March and 31st May 2020 will have their deposits fully refunded if cancelled 72 hours prior to arrival, or be transferable for up to 12 months ahead where customers have changed circumstances.

We will also be totally flexible with all existing bookings and should any guest need to cancel due to travel restrictions, or not wish to travel due to anxiety surround Covid-19 then we will allocate their deposit against a future stay anytime within the next 12 months from the date of amendment.

Individual Booking Terms & Conditions

Check in is available from 1500 hours on the day of arrival. you may request an early check in at the time of booking which we will try to accommodate however cannot guarantee it will be available. Please be ready to leave the room by 1100 hours, late check outs can be requested with the team on check in.

Inclusive dinner bed and breakfast rates include either a 6-course dinner or a 3 course ‘taste of Glenapp’ dinner and this will be stated clearly on your confirmation. If you are on a 3-course menu and wish to upgrade to the 6 course dinner, just let the team know 24 hours in advance and the cost is from £20.00 per person.

On all bookings, a deposit of the first night’s stay for each room will be charged to your credit card at the time of booking. On our regular rates this is refunded if you cancel your booking, prior to 30 days before arrival. Should you cancel within 30 days, the deposit isn’t refundable but we will endeavour to apply this deposit to another date for you.
If you have taken advantage of one of our promotional offers then full advance payment of the total stay is taken at the point of booking. This will not be refunded if you cancel your booking but we will try and accommodate this on another date subject to availability within the promotional timescales.
When booking our Festive packages, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking with the final 50% balance payable by 1st December.
In the event of cancellation by the hotel all payments will be refunded in full and the hotel is not liable for any costs incurred by the client as a result.
Bookings must be confirmed with deposit payment within 3 days of making provisional booking. If not received your accommodation may be released and we shall endeavour to contact you to advise of this.

Activities booked by our Concierge Services carry a surcharge of 10% on the booking fee.

Full payment for your stay, minus deposit paid, should be paid on the day of departure with any of the following methods of payment. Payment by company cheque needs prior approval.

We accept Cash, Master card, Visa and American Express.

We are often asked about our dress code. We don’t have a specific dress code but most of our guests prefer to dress smartly for dinner and tie isn’t essential for gentlemen.

We cater for all allergens or dietary requirements at Glenapp and ask for this information to be communicated to us at least 72 hours in advance of your arrival.

Children are very welcome at Glenapp. When sharing a room with two adults, children under 5 years old are accommodate free of charge, and children aged between 5 – 15 years are charged a bed and breakfast rate of £65.00 per day. Children’s’ meals are charged as taken. Our junior dinner menu is served in the dining room between 1730 – 1830 hours and is £13.50 for two course and £16.00 for three courses.

Very young children would probably not enjoy themselves in our dining rooms in the evening, so we can arrange babysitting services for them, and for older children if required. Ideally this should be requested at the time of booking, or at least 72 hours in advance.

Dogs are also welcome at Glenapp with prior arrangement. We have specific rooms suitable for dogs with direct access outside, and we ask that they do not come into the public areas and not left unaccompanied for long period of time in the guest bedroom.

Scottish law dictates it is not possible to smoke, or knowingly permit smoking, indoors in any public place and this includes the guest rooms and all public rooms at Glenapp. Smoking is possible out with the castle.

In the rare case that Glenapp Castle cannot accept a booking due to double booking, Glenapp will find guests other accommodation as best as possible in another hotel or guest accommodation. The deposit will be refunded in full and the guests will be responsible for payment of their room to the other accommodators. All our prices are inclusive of VAT @ 20%
