THE EARL OF INCHCAPE SUITE AT GLENAPP CASTLE, AYRSHIRE
Revel in the fairytale feeling of being a bride for just a few moments longer. You might have shed the princess wedding gown but keep the fantasy alive by checking yourself (and your new husband, of course) into the fabulous Earl of Inchcape Suite at Ayrshire’s award-winning Glenapp Castle.
Following a meticulous six-year renovation by owners Graham and Fay Cowan, this impressive castle has proved itself a sublime venue, racking up accolades along the way.
One of its two master suites (once inhabited by the Earl), enjoy the largest and most luxurious bedroom in the castle.
At 630 square feet, the suite is lavishly furnished with many original antique pieces, including a magnificent six-foot square four-poster bed, with its very own crystal chandelier. Should you make it out of bed, admire the room’s ornate cornicing and plaster work, French carved fireplace or explore the suite’s two turrets; one leading to an intriguing private circular room, the other, a hidden passage to the castle’s secret garden.
Indulge in a private six-course dinner prepared by decorated head chef Matt Weedon. With its own dining area, you won’t even have to venture out of the suite. Start as you mean to go on; as the king and queen of the castle, even if it’s only while the honeymoon lasts.
Glenapp Castle, Ballantrae, Ayrshire, is current AA Hotel of the Year for Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as Scottish Castle Hotel of 2006.
