Gourmet Weekend 2012
Programme of Events

Friday 14th September

  • 2.00pm onwards - Delicious Afternoon Tea in the Drawing room on arrival at the castle
  • 6.30pm - Champagne reception with Canapés hosted by Castle Manager,  John Orr
  • 7.00pm - 4 course Gourmet Dinner with selected wines.               

Saturday 15th September

  • 7.45am -10.00am - Full Scottish breakfast
  • 11.00am - Cookery Demonstration given by Adam Stokes, our Head Chef.
  • 12.30pm - Light Lunch
  • Wild Mushroom Hunt in Glenapp Castle Grounds3.00pm - Wild Mushroom Hunt in the Grounds of Glenapp Castle
    We have arranged for an afternoon of wild mushroom hunting and tuition in the castle grounds with our local expert Mark Williams from Galloway Wild Foods.

    Mark will help you identify and harvest wild mushrooms grown in the area. Adam, our Head Chef and Mark will create a very special seven course gourmet menu to include mushrooms foraged from Glenapp Castle grounds.
  • 6.00pm - Pre-dinner tutored wine tasting with Kevin Smith of The Alliance Wine Company
  • 7.00pm - Seven Course Gourmet Dinner with specially selected wines. Each course will be described by Hugh McDowall, Assistant Manager.

Sunday 16th September

  • 7.45am -10.00am - Full Scottish breakfast
  • 11.00am - Check out and depart the castle with Glenapp Castle Gourmet Weekend Complimentary Gift Bag to take home.
