Bed & Breakfast Terms & Conditions

Our daily room rates are based on two people sharing and are inclusive of a Full Scottish Breakfast and VAT at 20%.
Please note that quotations are valid for 48 hours and are subject to availability.

Please reserve a table for dinner in advance. The cost of our six course gourmet dinner will be £65.00 per person and we request that you let us know if you have any allergies or intolerances in advance.

Guests may arrive at the castle from 1.00pm on the day of arrival. On the day of departure, check out time is 11.00am

When sharing with an adult, accommodation for children under 5 years old is free of charge, with meals charged as taken. We request that these very young children are not present drawing room or dining rooms after 6.30pm. Our junior dinner menu is served in the dining room between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, and all meals are charged as taken. Babysitting services are available and should be requested at the time of booking. A selection of books, games and DVD’s is available for younger children. Children aged 5 to 15 years, when sharing with an adult, are charged a Bed and Breakfast Rate of £55.00 per day. Well behaved children aged five and over are very welcome to enjoy our main dinner menu from 7.00pm or a shortened version if preferred.

In order to confirm a reservation, we require a deposit of 25% of the total stay at the time of booking. Please note that a reservation constitutes a contract with the hotel. Deposit payments are not refundable if the reservation is cancelled thirty days or less from the date of arrival. An administration fee will be charged on all refunded deposits. If the reservation is cancelled 72 hours or less from the date of arrival, the cost of the reservation is liable to be paid in full unless the accommodation is re-sold at the same rate. We therefore strongly recommend that guests insure against cancellation. Your annual travel insurance policy or credit card insurance may cover this. In the event of cancellation by the hotel all deposit payments will be refunded in full but the hotel will not be liable for any costs incurred by the client as a result.

The castle can be made available for exclusive use by private parties of residents for conferences, weddings or other occasions. We can arrange golf on local championship or recreational courses, clay pigeon shooting and shooting or fishing on local estates and rivers for parties, or for individual guests. We will be delighted to discuss your requirements and to give you a personal quotation.

Rates for our three night New Year Celebrations are available on request.

Please advise us at the time of booking if you require disabled facilities, or if you have difficulty with stairs as our lift does not serve all areas of the castle.

Dogs are accepted at the discretion of the management, and by prior arrangement only. They are not permitted in the public areas and are only permitted in the ground floor bedrooms where they must not be left unaccompanied.

We reserve the right to supply all alcoholic drinks consumed on the premises.

We serve a limited choice six-course dinner menu each evening. We therefore request that you let us know, at the time of booking, if you have any special dietary requirements.

It is an offence under Scottish law to smoke or knowingly permit smoking indoors in any public place. This includes all of the guest bedrooms and all of the public rooms. Smoking is only possible outside the castle.
